The White Horse Inn is situated in the beautiful village of Ampleforth, North Yorkshire which is the gateway to many fabulous walks and Ampleforth College.
Pete and Nikki offer you a warm welcome to their 18th century traditional country inn which dates back to 1768. Its charming cosy rooms with log fires, oak beamed ceilings, flagstone floors, candlelit tables and a warm friendly atmosphere make it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
We offer traditional hand pulled beers including Guest Ales Timothy Taylor, Black Sheep and Wold Gold and fine wines by the glass. Our great local characters, not only give the inn that ‘traditional proper pub’ feel, but also have a wealth of knowledge about the history of the pub and the area, which they regularly share with our visitors.
Pete runs the kitchen and produces delicious homecooked tasty meals . Our food is locally sourced, freshly prepared and cooked to order.
Front of house Nikki ensures everyone receives a warm friendly welcome. Childrens, Dogs and muddy boots are all welcome and we provide traditional board games to keep the kids amused.

Every Tuesday Senior Special Lunches – £4 main course, £2.50 pudding (choice of 2 mains and 2 puddings).
This lunch provides a lovely atmosphere especially with Frank Sinatra hosting the music and lots of the villagers meeting for a bite to eat and a catch up on the weeks events.
